Letter From Dad

Dear Cole,

Your mother thought it would be a good idea if I wrote you a letter and I agree that it is much overdo. I just want you to know how much I love you and what a great blessing you are in my life. I waited a long time to have you and it is true that good things come to those who wait. I can’t imagine having a better son than you and I love you with all my heart. I look at your picture at work constantly and it helps get me through my long days knowing that I get to come home to your smiling, handsome face.

Not a day goes by that I don’t thank my Heavenly Father for bringing you and your mother into my life and I can’t wait until you grow older so that we can experience so much more together. I so look forward to watching you continue to grow and be able to teach you things in life that are going to help you grow into a terrific young man. We already watch sports together, much to your mothers dismay, and I can’t wait to take you to your first ball games, play catch and just sit and talk about life.

I want you to know that I will always be there for you no matter what the need or circumstance you may find yourself in. I didn’t understand the saying that parents “will do anything for their kids” until we had you. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you and I will always love you no matter what. I want you to be able to trust me and feel that we can talk about anything together so that you will see me not only as your father but as your best friend.

Finally Cole I want you to know what a wonderful mother you have and that she loves you with all her heart. Give her your love in return and you won’t be disappointed. Trust in our Heavenly Father and know that I know that he lives and loves us and would do anything for us if we but kneel and humbly ask for his help. Cole you are the greatest and I love watching you grow and develop and can’t wait for the great things in life that are going to continue to come our way.

I love you,
Dad (or Mark as you often call me.)
