Dear Cole,

I just thought I would take a moment to write you a little note and tell you what has been going on lately with you. You are growing up way to quickly! It is hard to believe that in less than a month you will be two years old, and you are learning so much everyday. We have begun to potty train you, which I might add is quite interesting. Just recently you had been having a desire to sit on a little Fisher Price potty that I bought you and then one day you started going. After that we have tried to continue to encourage you to tell us when you have to go, and some times it works and sometimes it doesn’t. But for now it is a start and I think you are doing spectacular. I try to make you go potty about every forty five minutes or so just to give you a reminder and it is seeming to help. We have started to use less diaper, which is nice! One funny thing when you go potty is that the potty that I have sings a song after you go and you think it is the greatest thing on Earth, and you clap and are so proud of yourself. Of course you also think you have to watch yourself go to the bathroom which can end up making a little bit of a mess, but oh well you are learning.

We were over at Suzy Miller’s house last week and you were playing with Bailee and McCall when you came out and said potty. So I ran you into the bathroom to use McCall’s small potty. The only problem with this is that Suzy only has girls so she doesn’t have to use the pee shield that we use for you. So there was no shield on the potty and well pee made its way out of the potty and on to the floor. Boys pee a little differently than girlsJ.

We have found out that we are having a baby girl in November, and we are so excited. I know that you will be the best big brother out there! You know that there is a baby in Mom’s tummy and we try to show you as many babies as we can to prepare you a little. I hope that you will be a big help and love your sister so much. We also just painted her room and you helped us and every time you enter the room you say “babies roooom.” It is really cute, and I think you are becoming more and more aware of the baby.

You are finally starting to have a BIG desire in trying to learn new words. Before you only wanted to say what you thought was important, but lately you let me teach you new words. I love to hear your sweet voice talk, and when you say “Hi Mom” my heart truly melts and I want to give you lots of kisses!!!! Besides speaking more and more you love to learn the actions to children’s songs. You are very animated in how you make the actions and everyone loves to watch your cute smiling face. Your favorites right now are Book of Mormon Stories, Popcorn popping on the apricot tree, Itsy Bitsy spider, Wheels on the Bus, and the Ants go Marching. Those are just a few, you really seem to have rhythm for anything that has to do with music.

Well my sweet boy you have woken up from your nap and are now sitting on my lap listening to the song Lollipop, so I better go play with you and give you lots of hugs and kisses.

Love you forever!
Mom
